Energy Balancing Sessions are as unique as you are. I weave Eden Energy Medicine, Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique, Hypnotherapy, Shamanic Healing, Curanderisma Techniques, and Food Healing into the fabric of my practice. I seamlessly integrate different modalities of energy medicine into the session based on your individual needs. All sessions are grounding and address stress, both of which can be the hidden foundation of many of our health problems. Because energy exists non relative to time and space, it can be experienced hands-on in person or received over distance
What is Eden Energy Medicine?
Eden Energy Medicine is a complement to other medical care approaches and a complete system for self-care and self-help. It can help address physical illness and emotional or mental disorders, and can also promote high-level wellness and peak performance. Energy Medicine is not costly, requires no special equipment, is non-invasive and empowers people to participate in promoting their own health and supporting their own healing. While some Energy Medicine is very esoteric, Eden Energy Medicine is grounded and very practical.
I support the health of the body by restoring energies that have become weak, disturbed, or out of balance by activating the body’s natural healing energies.
- The body’s energies need space to move.
Energy can become blocked due to toxins, constrictions, stress or other interference. I support the energies in developing the space they need to thrive.
- The body’s energies need to run in specific patterns.
Just like trips in your car, when you step on the accelerator, you want it to go forward, not in reverse. I assist the energies to flow in patterns that best support health and well-being.
- The body’s energies need to cross-over from one side of the body to the other.
Healthy crossover patterns occur in body systems all the way down to our cells. Due to common daily habits, many people are homolateral, their energy is not successfully crossing from one side of the body to the other. I support the energies in reestablishing and maintaining this essential function.
- The body’s energies need to be balanced.
Just like work needs to be balanced with play and friends need to be balanced with family, I support the energy systems so they are balanced with each other.
There are at least nine different energetic systems that affect each and every one of us. In an energy balancing session, I work to balance one or more of these systems:
Aura: Like the earth’s atmosphere, the aura surrounds and envelops the body. It is the body’s outermost energy system. The aura serves two main functions: it is a filter that protects the body from toxic or disruptive energies, and it also acts as an antenna to bring in beneficial energies. It processes necessary nutrients from the environment, like sunlight, and serves to harmonize us within the magnetic field of the earth.
Meridians: There is one great meridian that divides into 14 segments that we call the meridians. Just like veins and arteries carry blood, meridians are energy pathways that carry energy to the body’s organs, muscles and cells. My master teacher, Donna Eden, sees meridians as a network of colorful streaming ribbons.
Basic Grid: Embedded throughout the body is a matrix or grid pattern. Dense and slow-moving, it is the foundation of the other energy systems and the innermost energy of them all. Just like the skeletal system provides the body’s basic structure, the basic grid is the skeletal system of the body’s energy systems. Donna Eden says the grid is like the chassis of a car…if it is strong, you never notice it. If it is weak or broken, nothing else seems quite right.
Chakras: Situated along the spine are at least seven major chakras. These are like pools or swirling disks of energy that bathe and fuel the organs that are in their proximity. The chakras also govern the endocrine system and carry information about a person’s history. They encode and process physical, mental, emotional and spiritual experiences. Each chakra has seven layers, its deepest layers reaching almost into the basic grid and the outermost reaching into the aura, both back and front.
Radiant Circuits: Also called the strange flows or extraordinary flows in Traditional Chinese Medicine, radiant circuits are subtle energy flows that support and assist all the other energy systems, especially the meridians. They are highly responsive to thoughts and emotions and fuel joy and other positive feelings. Like hyperlinks on the World Wide Web or a quantum leap, they jump to wherever they are needed.
Triple Warmer: Triple Warmer is both a meridian and a radiant circuit. It plays so many roles, it is often seen as a separate and independent energy system. Triple Warmer has the immense responsibility of keeping us alive. It is intimately involved with the adrenal glands and governs the fight-flight-or-freeze response. Sadly, it has not evolved quickly enough to process all the stress mankind is capable of experiencing in our modern world and everyone needs help balancing this meridian.
Celtic Weave: This energy system is like the weave of a basket that helps create a container for all your body’s energies. It draws all of your energy systems together into a network of communication through a criss-crossing dance of large and small figure 8s and sometimes other geometric shapes as well. The healthier the body and its energies, the more prominent the Celtic Weave will be.
Five Rhythms: These are represented by the metaphors of water, wood, fire, earth and metal, and are reflected in the seasons of spring, summer, late summer, fall and winter. To use a grammatical metaphor, if we were to say that the meridians, chakras and aura were nouns, then the five rhythms would be the adjectives describing them.
Electrics: Like the Celtic Weave and the Five Rhythms, the electrics act upon all the other systems. Comprised of the electrical dimension of each of the other systems, they help to electrically charge and connect the cells, organs and other energy systems. Electrical energy is the densest and most easily measured of the body’s systems and is the major energy system affected by and affecting the nervous system and the heart.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. It is a hands-on healing technique and is based on the idea that unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki can help with many of life’s challenges, and can be experienced in person or sent over distance.
A Reiki treatment is balancing on many levels:
- If you are feeling tired, you will feel more refreshed.
- If you are feeling anxious, you will feel more serene.
- If you are distressed, you will feel comforted.
- If you are overwhelmed, you will feel calmer.
These subjective changes will be accompanied by physical changes that are indicative of deep relaxation, such as a slower heart rate and easier breathing. As with all energy work, the benefits grow with repeated sessions. People all over the globe are using Reiki for pain management, reduced anxiety or depression, improved sleep, stronger digestion, enhanced well-being and so much more.
EFT is a form of psychological acupressure based on the same meridians used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over five thousand years. Emotional Freedom Technique is done by simply tapping with the fingertips to input kinetic energy into specific meridian beginning and end acupoints. While tapping, you think or speak your specific problem, whether it is a traumatic event, addiction, pain, etc., and then continue tapping while affirming positive outcomes.
This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmations works to clear any short-circuits or emotional blocks from your body’s energy system, thus restoring the balance of your body and mind, which is essential for optimal health and well-being.
EFT tapping seems unusual but the benefits are truly enormous. It is very easy to learn and can help to:
- Remove negative emotions
- Reduce food cravings
- Reduce or eliminate pain
- Implement positive goals
- And so much more
Long gone are the days when hypnosis was seen as swinging watches and controlling people’s minds. Hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things, in fact it is the opposite. It is about empowerment. In a hypnotherapy session, you are always in control. It is generally accepted that all hypnosis is ultimately self-hypnosis. A hypnotherapist merely helps to facilitate your experience.
Hypnotherapy involves the induction of a trance-like state that is actually an enhanced state of calm awareness, by concentrating on the hypnotist’s words and voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is engaged. The therapist is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the client, the seeds of which become firmly planted and accepted by the subconscious mind. These suggestions help people to make the desired positive changes within themselves.
The word shaman comes from the Tungus Tribe in eastern Siberia, an area where shamanism was the most prominent and where its origins may be found. Translated, shaman means to heat up; to burn; to work with heat and fire.
Curanderisma evolved from the culture that grew out of the Spanish colonization of Mexico hundreds of years ago. It takes its name from the Spanish word curar, meaning “to heal.”
All healing begins with the recognition that we are our own best healers and that unconditional love and acceptance of ourselves leads to mind, spirit, and whole body health. Shamanic healing often uses partnership with the earth, trees, plants and rocks to guide people to healing. I strive to educate and gently assist each client toward wellness on all levels.
- Plactica: The heart to heart talk that begins our session.
- Smudging: Using burning sage for the purpose of clearing negative energy and inviting in peace, harmony and ease into your life.
- Emotional Cord Cutting: Frees you from unneeded connections and situations from the past that may be negatively affecting you.
- Recapitulation: A deeply powerful ritual used to reclaim any power you have unconsciously given away.
- Limpia: A fresh whole egg is gently circled over the body to draw out illness and negative forces into the egg while a cleansing prayer brings healing energy in to replace it, clearing your energy field of unwanted and unneeded energies.
- Ear coning or candling: An ancient art using an ear candle, a long conical shaped tube, which is lit with fire at the top. The small, slowly burning flame creates a vacuum in the tube which gently and effectively draws earwax and other impurities out of the ear canal and collects it the lower part of the candle.

Praises for Energy Balancing Session:
For the last year, I have been suffering from frequent stress-induced migraines. The intensity of the migraines escalated so that I was prescribed a daily preventative pill that sounded dangerous and wrought with side effects.
It was at that point that I began working with Harmony over the phone. She helped me alleviate pain and stress through simple, quick and enjoyable exercises and dietary changes. Her caring style and clear communication and guidance were just what I needed. Not only was I able to avoid the preventative meds but I have not had to take the original migraine pain medicine either! Anyone lucky enough to receive guidance and healing from Harmony will be deeply grateful.” ~Betsy, Iowa City
